A solid black rock incense holder. I was drawn to its subtle elegance—the base slightly wavers, making it appear to float—and its bold presence, marked by crater-like patterns on the surface. It’s the kind of stone you could gaze at forever.
“still” series / stand
“still” series is an ongoing attempt to gently reopen the relationship between stone and its surroundings through minimal intervention—an open-ended still life that embraces change while remaining a stone. In “stand”, a small hole is made to insert incense and light a flame. Through layers of fire, ash, and the passing of time, a quiet relationship with the stone gradually unfolds.
